Establishing political parties was banned in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the period 1975 to 1992. During this period, joining a hid den party by a public employee was considered as a behavior al breach leading to disciplinary action, which was at that time, termination of the employee\u27s services in accordance with martial law No 4/1970. In 1992 Political Parties Law No 32/1992 was released which gave public employees the right to establish political parties and to join existing ones. Some categories have been exempted from this right such as Judges, Military Men and Security Departments employees as they are considered incumbents of positions which should never be allowed to practice political activities for being guardians of democracy. Although the Political Parties Law allowed public employees m general, except the exempted categories, to participate in establishing or joining political parties, but laid down a number of obligations on them which are represented by the following two obligations: I. To be conservative · in political life. II. To be neutral in performing his official job. The researcher at the end of his research made some recommendations towards clarifying things to the Jordanian n public employee in order to safeguard him once he joins a political party. These recommendations are represented in the following: i. The necessity to identify political positions filling and termination of their incumbents are inherited rights to the governments, in order to allow the winning party in parliamentary elections to appoint its members in those positions for the sake of applying the party\u27s general policy. ii. The obligation of being conservative in political life has to be clarified. iii. The obligation of neutrality in performing official job has also to be clarified

A New Multi-threaded and Interleaving Approach to Enhance String Matching for Intrusion Detection Systems

    Get PDF
String matching algorithms are computationally intensive operations in computer science. The algorithms find the occurrences of one or more strings patterns in a larger string or text. String matching algorithms are important for network security, biomedical applications, Web search, and social networks. Nowadays, the high network speeds and large storage capacity put a high requirement on string matching methods to perform the task in a short time. Traditionally, Aho-Corasick algorithm, which is used to find the string matches, is executed sequentially. In this paper, a new multi-threaded and interleaving approach of Aho-Corasick using graphics processing units (GPUs) is designed and implemented to achieve high-speed string matching. Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) programming language is used to implement the proposed parallel version. Experimental results show that our approach achieves more than 5X speedup over the sequential and other parallel implementations. Hence, a wide range of applications can benefit from our solution to perform string matching faster than ever before

FPGA Implementation of Data Flow Graphs for Digital Signal Processing Applications

A rapid growth in digital signal processing applications has increased the requirement for high-speed digital systems. Multiprocessor systems are the best choice for these applications. A prior sequence of operations should be applied to the operations that described the nature of these applications before hardware implementation is produced. These operations should be scheduled and hardware allocated. This paper proposes a new scheduling technique for digital signal processing (DSP) applications has been represented by data flow graphs (DFGs). In addition, hardware allocation is implemented in the form of embedded system. A proposed scheduling technique also achieves the optimal scheduling of a DFG at design time. The optimality criteria considered in this algorithm are the maximum throughput within the available hardware resources. The maximum throughput is achieved by arranging the DFG nodes according to their inter-related data dependencies. Then, two nodes can be clustered into one compound task to reduce the overall execution time by minimizing the number of tasks to be executed that minimizing the number of cycles to execute them. Then each task is presented in form of instruction to be executed in the hardware system. A hardware system is composed of one or multiple homogenous pipelined processing elements and it is designed to meet the maximum-rate schedule.  Two implementations are proposed of the system architecture according to the number of the processing elements, namely:  the serial system and the parallel system. The serial system comprises one processing element where all tasks are processed sequentially, whilst the parallel system has four processing elements to execute tasks concurrently. These systems consist mainly of seven units: central shared memory, state table, multiway function unit buffer, execution array, processing element/s, instruction buffer and the address generation unit. The hardware components were built on an FPGA chip using Verilog HDL. In synthesis results, the parallel system has better system performance by 25.5% than the serial system. While the serial system requires smaller area size, which described by the number of slice registers and the number of the slice lookup tables (LUTs) than the parallel one. The relationship between the number of instructions that are executed in both systems, and the system area and the system performance that presented by system frequency, are studied. By increasing memories size in both systems, the system performance isn’t affected as in a serial system, and it is slightly decreased as the parallel system by 1.5% to 4.5%. In terms of the systems area, both serial system area and parallel system area are increased and in some cases are doubled. The proposed scheduling technique is shown to outperform the retaining technique, which we have chosen to compare with.  The serial system has better performance by 19.3% higher system frequency than a retiming technique. And the parallel system also outperforms the retaining technique by 51.2% higher system frequency in synthesis results

Benchmarking open source deep learning frameworks

Deep Learning (DL) is one of the hottest fields. To foster the growth of DL, several open source frameworks appeared providing implementations of the most common DL algorithms. These frameworks vary in the algorithms they support and in the quality of their implementations. The purpose of this work is to provide a qualitative and quantitative comparison among three such frameworks: TensorFlow, Theano and CNTK. To ensure that our study is as comprehensive as possible, we consider multiple benchmark datasets from different fields (image processing, NLP, etc.) and measure the performance of the frameworks' implementations of different DL algorithms. For most of our experiments, we find out that CNTK's implementations are superior to the other ones under consideration

Eye tracking is a useful technique for detecting autism spectrum disorder (ASD). One of the most important aspects of good learning is the ability to have atypical visual attention. The eye-tracking technique provides useful information about children’s visual behaviour for early and accurate diagnosis. It works by scanning the paths of the eyes to extract a sequence of eye projection points on the image to analyse the behaviour of children with autism. In this study, three artificial-intelligence techniques were developed, namely, machine learning, deep learning, and a hybrid technique between them, for early diagnosis of autism. The first technique, neural networks [feedforward neural networks (FFNNs) and artificial neural networks (ANNs)], is based on feature classification extracted by a hybrid method between local binary pattern (LBP) and grey level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) algorithms. This technique achieved a high accuracy of 99.8% for FFNNs and ANNs. The second technique used a pre-trained convolutional neural network (CNN) model, such as GoogleNet and ResNet-18, on the basis of deep feature map extraction. The GoogleNet and ResNet-18 models achieved high performances of 93.6% and 97.6%, respectively. The third technique used the hybrid method between deep learning (GoogleNet and ResNet-18) and machine learning (SVM), called GoogleNet + SVM and ResNet-18 + SVM. This technique depends on two blocks. The first block used CNN to extract deep feature maps, whilst the second block used SVM to classify the features extracted from the first block. This technique proved its high diagnostic ability, achieving accuracies of 95.5% and 94.5% for GoogleNet + SVM and ResNet-18 + SVM, respectively

Appropriation is defined as the expropiation of a property from its owner, the right of disposal, ‎usufruct of easement of same. Thus, appropriation can apply to the tittle to the property per ‎se, to the right od disposal of, usufruct or easement of such tittle. Such sovereign privilege, ‎determined for the public administration to dispossess the private property, is based on Article ‎‎( 11 ) of the Jordanian constitution of 1952 , which provides that the property of any person ‎may not be seized except for public use and against a fair compensation as prescribed by the ‎law . The Jordanian legislator requires that a number of legal procedures should be salisfied ‎before the passing of the appropriation decision. Taking the appropriation decision will go ‎thought the following stages. The preliminary announcement stage, the submital of the ‎application to the council of Ministers, the passing of the appropriation decision and finally the ‎announcement of the decision of expropriation of the sole proprietorship. The aim of such ‎stages it to exercise patience when issuing the decision and not to be hasty in taking this ‎decision because it constitute a prejudice to the most sacred rights of individuals without ‎exceptio
